The sessions, workshops and guidance offered by Melanie Simons - including coaching, family or couple guidance, breathwork, energy healing and parent-child sessions - are intended to support emotional wellbeing, personal awareness and connection. They are not medical, psychological, or therapeutic treatments, and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.

If you are currently receiving treatment from a doctor, therapist or other healthcare professional, please inform them of your participation in these sessions. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting breathwork or any other somatic practice, especially if you have a history of cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological or psychological conditions. 

Responsibility

By participating in any session, program or event, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. You understand that breathwork and energy practices can bring up physical or emotional sensations and that you are free to pause or stop at any time.

Melanie Simons cannot be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation.

Results

Results and experiences may vary for each individual. All guidance, practices and materials are offered in good faith, but there are no guaranteed outcomes. Transformation happens at your own pace and in your own timing.

Contraindications for breathwork

Breathwork can be a powerful and transformative practice, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Please consult your healthcare provider before participating if you have or have experienced any of the following conditions: 

  • Cardiovascular issues (including heart disease, high or low blood pressure or history of a stroke)

  • Respiratory conditions, such as asthma, COPD or other chronic breahting disorders.

  • Epilepsy or seizure disorders

  • History of aneurysms

  • Recent surgery or significant physical injury

  • Pregnancy (especially in the first trimester or if considered high risk)

  • Glaucoma or retinal detachment

  • Severe psychiatric conditions (such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or psychosis)

  • Use of medication that significantly affect mood, blood pressure or respiration

  • Any other condition that may be negatively impacted by intense breathing patterns.

If you are unsure whether breathwork is appropriate for you, please speak with a qualified medical professional before participating. During the session always listen to your body. You are free to pause, slow down or stop at any moment.
